The Group's origins date back to 1964 through New Zealand Couriers - a pioneer in the express package industry in New Zealand. Since commencing operations in Auckland, Freightways has grown organically and by acquisition to become a leading New Zealand service provider, with representation in every major town and city throughout the country.
New Zealand Couriers
Freightways’ flagship brand is positioned as the premier provider of network courier services to New Zealand businesses. Specialising in express parcel delivery, service standards range from 2.5 hours for local deliveries, to overnight by 9.30am for nationwide deliveries. New Zealand Couriers sits at the premium service/premium price end of Freightways’ multi-brand strategy. New Zealand Couriers is Freightways’ largest brand by revenue and operating earnings.
Post Haste
20 million kilometres per year, through 300 towns and cities in New Zealand keeps this brand an integral part of our business to business, network courier infrastructure. Positioned in the wide and lucrative mid-market segment ensures Freightways customers have an imperative market choice in terms of service levels and price point.
Big Chill Distribution Limited
Big Chill is a New Zealand market leader in temperature-controlled transport, specialising in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) and time critical parcel freight, both chilled and frozen. Big Chill operates a fleet of over 200 temperature-controlled trucks and trailers through its nationwide network of depots and purpose-built cool stores.
Dataprint
Dataprint works to revolutionise the traditional mail house sector, offering a combination of conventional and digital mail house solutions, from creation, management to archive. Dataprint is a perfect fit for enterprise companies that process large volumes of transactional electronic communications.
SUB60
SUB60 is New Zealand’s leading point-to-point courier, specialising in time critical (typically 1 hour) metropolitan deliveries in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Consignments are handled by the same SUB60 contractor from pick-up until delivery, ensuring greater speed and security of delivery. SUB60 also offers urgent same day intercity deliveries.

NOW Couriers
A Freightways acquisition in 2008, NOW Couriers complements our Express Package division with New Zealand Couriers, Post Haste and Castle Parcels. Specifically NOW Couriers specialises in responsive, friendly service for Auckland businesses with national courier needs. NOW Couriers is backed by Freightways’ 50 years of experience in the hub and spoke courier industry.
Castle Parcels
Castle Parcels operates in the economy next day (two day inter-island) delivery segment, with the ability to cater for high volume parcel customers. Castle Parcels has branches in the three main business centres of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, and operates a fleet of mid-size trucks in these centres. For deliveries outside these centres, Castle Parcels utilises the Post Haste Couriers and New Zealand Couriers fleets.
Security Express
Security Express is a secure express package service specialising in the transportation of valuable items and documentation within Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch and nationwide from these centres. Security Express offers a completely secure service, from the moment a call is logged through to the arrival of a consignment at its destination. Security Express’ contractors are all licensed security guards.
Med-X
Med-X Healthcare Solutions provide products and services for the safe and secure handling, treatment and disposal of clinical waste and related services including sharps, washroom and hygiene services and chemical waste and pharmaceutical disposal in Australia. Med-X are committed to exceptional customer service and the development of innovative and sustainable practices.
Shred-X
Shred‐X is a nationally recognised secure destruction provider with the highest industry accreditations. Shred-X offer a Privacy Act compliant service for the collection, transportation and destruction of sensitive data with the most extensive direct service coverage in the industry. The Shred-X service includes document destruction, e-waste, media and hard drive destruction, archive box and purge destruction, textile and product destruction. Shred-X are also industry leaders in ethical and sustainable recycling providing paper recycling, printer waste solutions and e-waste recycling and are the largest provider of recycled office paper to Australian paper mills significantly reducing greenhouse emissions and deforestation.

Parceline Express
Parceline Express provides road linehaul services to Freightways' express package and business mail businesses.
The Parceline Express network is comprised of independent contractors who operate over the major arterial routes across New Zealand each evening. The road linehaul network links with Fieldair’s air linehaul service to provide Freightways with a dedicated national linehaul network.
Freightways Information Services (FIS)
Freightways Information Services (FIS) is an internal shared services provider of information technology and advisory services to the Freightways businesses. It is responsible for managing Freightways’ overall information technology infrastructure and maintains relationships with selected external information technology suppliers. FIS is also responsible for the design, development, maintenance and support of Freightways’ in-house express package application software. FIS has extensive experience in managing mission-critical, high-volume transaction processing systems and works closely with the Freightways businesses to apply this experience to the development of secure, robust commercially-focused information systems. FIS is ISO 27001 certified, meaning their systems are security-compliant and follow an internationally-recognised security framework. Fieldair
Fieldair’s primary purpose is to operate and maintain a fleet of four Convair 580 and one Convair 5800 freight aircraft, which operate nightly dedicated air linehaul services between the North and South Islands. It provides maintenance and support services for these aircraft and for external customers. Freightways acquired Fieldair in November 1999, gaining full control of its air linehaul requirements and avoiding reliance on any external party.
